Enchanted

We went to see the Disney movie 'Enchanted' today, and I was truly enchanted by it. It's such a feel-good movie. I'd heard rave reviews about it, so though it would be worth a look-see. It was hard to imagine how a cartoon/real people combination film could charm realists, and when it started I thought, cute, old school Disney.

It all begins with the Cinderella/Snow White type of scenario: Prince Charming, Wicked Stepmother/Witch, cartoon animals who do housework and stitchery, musical duets, the whole kit and caboodle. Then the wicked witch sends the heroine, Giselle, to New York City, and she changes from a cartoon into a real person, while retaining her cartoon characteristics.

Of course, her Prince follows her, but not everything goes smoothly. This film is corny, funny, romantic, sad, happy, and at times completely over the top. It's Disney having a little chuckle at itself and somehow it works. For just a little while you can let go of disbelief, enjoy the journey, and come out of the theatre smiling.

Good Evening Dabrah,
I bet this would be a movie our girls would like to see. They love anything Disney. My Sister took them last Friday to see "Alvin & The Chipmunks". They said that was a good movie as well. It cost's so much to go to a movie these days. For 4 people to just see a movie is nearly $40.00. That's not counting your popcorn and soda's. Since my Sister doesn't have kids of her own, I'll just let her spend her money taking ours. LOL. To answer your question about me staying up all night. I usually lay down when the girls lay down. Our youngest daughter still sleeps with me and hubby. She won't go to sleep unless she has someone beside her. I may fall asleep for a bit, then I get back up and stay up all night and after I take them to school of the mornings, I come back home and take my medications and eat me a bowl of cereal and go back to bed. Sometimes while I'm awake at night, I may get on the computer or just lay in bed and watch t.v. Once in a great while, I'll get in a reading mood and if I have a good book, I'll just lay there and read. It's hard, but I deal with it. Hubby told me I need to stay on the girls schedule. But if I do that, when he comes home, I won't be able to stay up with him at nights and have some alone time with him. We have to grab every moment alone while he is home because the girls don't want to go anywhere while their Daddy is at home. I can't blame them for that either. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.
