The grass is as high as an elephant's eye...

......well, maybe a baby elephant... or the tips of Hooli's ears.

Hooli and I went for a walk across the fields and into the woods today. We did that yesterday too, but I didn't have my camera with me then. After coming off a narrow footpath, we walked across three fields this big:

Then down another footpath and into the wood: Across a stream where Hooli found a dam:
The undergrowth consisted of mostly waist high stinging nettles (ouch):
And then out of the wood and a field to cross (with grass as high as an elephant's eye):

And Hooli found something:

Lovely pictures of what seemed like a great day. I often write about my own rambles with my pooch.

Isn't it a treat to see how pleased they are with themselves when they find something?

Thanks for taking us along on your walk.

Awww, he's so proud of his prize. Great video and photos! I lived for 3 years in a little village in Cambs as a teen and I remember taking a path through the fields to visit friends in the next village. I loved that walk.

Wow, you live in a beautiful place. I can see why you love seeing the world from your own door step.

Do you grow all those beautiful roses (another great "R") or do you just like them. I can't get a rose bush to grow for anything. Everyone else aaround me has them but I just manage to kill them or keep them so stunted and puny, it doesn't seem worth having them.
