Fruit feast

I've spent a good part of today working on the vegetable patch. I'm happy to say that the strawberries have started to ripen.

I picked my first batch yesterday, and they were absolutely delicious.

The raspberries are just thinking about turning red, and I don't have a net over them, something I need to do in the next day or so, or the birds will get to feast on the fruit before I do.
Just a bit ahead of the raspberries, but not quite ready yet, the blackcurrents are starting to darken. This particular bunch should be ready to eat in a few days.
It's so exciting going out there each morning, to see what's ready and what's developing. It's so rewarding.

You can't beat fresh fruit - I mean fresh. Yours looks... well, good enough to eat...

If Wimbledon is on, the strawberries must be on too.

You are so smart, and look at all that!! YUMMY. I'm not familiar with blackcurrant though, and will google it.

P.S. Dee, I'm not doing too good with the orange either for the challenge, but today (without my camera of course) I did notice things that were orange in color i.e. signs, buildings. Hope that helps. :)

We're enjoying local strawberries right now. Their juicy goodness is one of my favorite flavors. Mmmm great pictures.

My dad grew strawberries for a living, and during strawberry season we had strawberries for every meal... with cornflakes, with "elevenses", strawberry sandwiches, strawberries and cream.... and I still love strawberries!

You are so blessed to have fresh fruit right at your fingertips. I love good fruit. I bought some good cherries at Sam's Sunday.

My gosh, your black currants look great! Mine are not at all there yet. Did you know that black currant makes a great wine? I make about 10 gallons every year, depending on the crop.
