A friend and I went to see French and Saunders in Oxford yesterday evening. It was brilliant. They threw everything at us. A good selection of different characters from their shows, as well as a touch of Absolutely Fabulous and a giant Vicar of Dibley.
Dawn French wandered through the audience bandishing her "chocometer" in one hand, and a collection bucket in the other, with some hillarious consequences.
Jennifer Saunders did her Madonna impersonation, which brought tears to my eyes, not only because it was so funny, but also because she ended up doing a sort of squat-walk in a pair of impossibly high heels. Ouch!
They ended the whole show by coming back on to do their dirty fat men impersonations, which got quite rude in places, but ended very funnily.
As they took their final bow, the audience threw chocolates at their feet.
They kept saying that this was their final tour. I hope not.

Oh you lucky lucky so-and-so.... I ADORE French and Saunders... but unfortunately there isn't much of them on Canadian TV, and I doubt if they'll ever do a live tour here. Or maybe they already have and I missed it???? British humour isn't always appreciated here in the New World. Anyway, I love the Vicar of Dibley shows, and Dawn French did a Murder Most Foul show that I enjoyed... great stuff. Meybe I'll rush out and get one of their videos....
Oh you are SO lucky to have seen French and Saunders. They were on the t.v a few weeks back saying how they are doing this tour and then parting ways. Very sad to hear isn't it?

I love the Vicar. We have just been introduced to the program and were shocked to realize how old it was. It's a hoot, just about the funniest telly I have ever seen.
Sounds like Such Fun!!hughugs
I loved French & Saunders too but you don't see them over here at all, just the odd Ab Fab :-(
