The Old Gaol in Buckingham

This is the Old Gaol in Buckingham, which was one of the earliest purpose built prisons, and is now a museum. It stands in the centre of Buckingham, and is quite an impressive building. It was built in 1748.

Good Afternoon Dabrah,
Wow, what a beautiful building. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. I think that is so neat that they turned the old prison into a museum. I love to go thru museum's. I bet they have some pretty interesting things in there. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

It's a gorgeous building, isn't it?

Thank you for visiting. It may seem strange but people had this problem before and sometimes it just means higher the volume on your own computer to solve the listening problem. I hope that that is the problem.

Just transport yourself back to the 1700s... you're starving and you've just been caught stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family, and you're being hauled away to that imposing stone building... thrown into a cold cell, with no indoor plumbing except perhaps a wooden bucket, no TV, no blamkets, no Nintendo, no hot meals, no justice.... YIKES!
