Wall to wall sunshine, hooray!

Since I had a moan about the rain, thought I'd better have a cheer about the sunshine which is just pouring down on us, and the forecast is the same for the next couple of days, hooray!

Another Weather Update

I think the weather has thrown everything at us today. So many flights were cancelled at Heathrow and Gatwick, mostly because of the bad weather.

I drove up to Sheffield this afternoon with my son. After our snowy start, it had thawed by the time we left and it was a nice clear afternoon with sunshine and dry roads. By the time we reached Sheffield there was the occasional bit of drizzle, but nothing to worry about.

At about 5.30 pm in Sheffield, it started to snow. It didn't settle at first, but it was very heavy with large flakes, and here's how it looked on my way back south.

Still inside Sheffield at around 5.50 pm....

Just outside Sheffield at 6 pm.......

Back in Milton Keynes at 7.45 pm....

About halfway down the M1 the weather started to clear, and as you can see by the time I was in Milton Keynes the sunset was promising a good day tomorrow. Let's see if it keeps its promises.

Brrr... It's freezing

Yes folks, after days and days of sunny springlike weather, today has been quite cold, and tonight... well let me put it this way, the forecast is for -2C (that's 28F). Okay, maybe it isn't so cold if you're in one of the chillier regions of the globe, but compared to what we've become used to recently it's positively frigid here!

We do need the frost though, my vegetable garden needs it to kill off any weeds and bugs that might be lurking around, and to break down the compost that's been dug in. I almost did some sowing last week, but I'm glad I held off now.

I won a prize in the recent One World One Heart event. Pamela from Quilts n More sent me a message to say that I won one of her postcards. I'm thrilled to bits, and I can't wait to see it.
