Contrasts

What a difference a couple of weeks have made to our surroundings here. The picture below was taken a week ago. Someone had given me some white tulips and I thought the contrast between the tulips inside and the snow still lying on the grass in the garden was quite interesting.

Then yesterday I took a walk in a nearby village and found a hedge of holly....
Above some clumps of snowdrops. The contrast here are the associations that I make with these two images. Holly makes me think of Winter, and snowdrops make me think of Spring.

Both the tulips and the snowdrops mean SPRING to me! My neighbour's lawn will be absolutely full of snowdrops once all this %$&**(^$! snow melts.

How lucky you are to have signs of spring. We still are in the blah winter mode here but Spring is coming soon!

I haven't seen snowdrops for a few years now, so crocuses are the beginning of spring for me. I'll likely see some in August at this rate. :)

I learned last week that those early tulips grow in greenery houses. Somewhere in May they grow on the fields. they are always beautiful.
