The days are decidedly shorter and the nights much much longer. Halloween's been and gone, Guy Fawkes night went up in a sparkle of fireworks last night, and Christmas seems to be just around the corner.
November is the month that I think I should start and finish writing my Christmas cards, although inevitably it comes and goes and the Christmas cards barely get done in time, if at all. I've been known to send them out as New Years' greetings.
We've had some frost, we've had one snowfall, and everywhere is damp and chilly. Some leaves are still clinging to the branches of trees, but they're displaying colours from gold to brown with every shade of red between.
To me, November feels like a lull, before the busy December festivities get going. A time to prepare and gather up energy. A time to take a deep breath and relax a little.

Thanks for reminding me that last year I swore I would get my Christmas cards done before December started. I am going to pull them out tonight and put them by my sitting area and they will be done in no time (ha ha)!
Me too I must get my Christmas cards wrote in goof time this year!

I can hardly believe this year is nearly gone. Our leaves are now beginning to turn; it's great weather here. Enjoy November, Dee! (HUGS)
I've stop sending out Christmas cards, but using ecard instead. Shame on me! I only send out about five to the older generation!
Take a well deserved break, Dee, and then let's go shopping (window shopping)...
Hi Dabrah,
You are right. November will be gone before you know it and it will be Christmas. I enjoy Christmas but always glad when it is over and things get back to normal.
Great idea!! Think I'll start on my Christmas cards tomorrow!! Thanks for the reminder!! Happy weekend sweetie!!hughugs
I always looked forward to November as it's my birthday month, but once the birthday had come and gone, I was faced with grey skies and cold rain, sometimes snow. But this year we are in sunny Florida, well, for a while, so November isn't so dull.
But you've really made me feel guilty about those Christmas cards.....!
Just checking in you, Dee; hope you're doing well. :)
Ah Christmas again. Cards to be send, shopping to be done and presents to be wrapped. This is going to be different for us this year with both daughters having to make a choice between us or parents in law. I wait with abated breath.
